Indigo joins CREATe Asia

Indigo’s opportunities to share knowledge and learn of advancements in the field of assistive technology have again been broadened with our recent acceptance as a member of CREATe Asia (the Coalition on Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Asia).

This Asia-Pacific alliance promotes the development, provision, and use of assistive technology with the goal of advancing rehabilitation engineering and AT through research, innovation, education, international collaboration, and professional development.

Indigo CEO Steve Glew, and Marketplace and eCommerce Manager Sacha Marchant met with representatives from CREATe Asia, and on behalf of Indigo, applied for and accepted the membership.

Sacha and Steve outlined Indigo’s services, our history and experience in assistive technology, including NED and geat2GO, and Indigo’s interests in sharing knowledge and learning from other countries’ assistive technology programs.

Our membership paves the way for discussions with other member agencies from China, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Korea, Japan, Thailand, as well as other AT agencies from Australia and New Zealand, such as the Australian Rehabilitation Assistive Technology Association (ARATA).

Joining this coalition of agencies is an exciting opportunity for Indigo as it allows us to benefit and contribute to the shared research, resources, knowledge, and experiences of the other agencies.

CREATe Asia also hosts the annual iCreate Conference, which Steve and Sacha attended last year, which was a fantastic event showcasing new and innovative assistive technology from across the Asia Pacific region, and being members of CREATe Asia also gives Indigo the opportunity to attend future expos where we can meet and engage with more international AT agencies.
