Meet Paul: our Procurement lead and Project Manager for Aged Care Reform. He's an essential member of our Business Solutions team and manages relationships under geat2GO - and was most recently representing Indigo along with other members of his team at the Support at Home Summit in Sydney!
What does your role involve?
In a nutshell I manage all supplier and service provider relationships for geat2GO, geat2GO expansion and other upcoming ventures. I am responsible for strategy and sales within my role and support my wider team within Business Solutions, this includes the geat2GO RFP process, geat2GO product management, supporting Operations, geat2GO supplier payments and system processes.
What do you like most about your role and working at Indigo?
My immediate team at Indigo are not just supportive and great to work alongside, they are a fantastic bunch of people who I expect to be in my life beyond Indigo (if there is life after Indigo for any of us haha). My roles involve a lot of interstate communication and tight timeframes on projects, the flexibility offered at Indigo enables me to have a great work life balance, even if most of my weeks go beyond my normal working hours, it doesn’t feel like that and I get to enjoy significant family time too.
Tell us about the most interesting project you have worked on during your career.
Undoubtedly geat2GO. I have been involved with geat2GO since the original tender was submitted 4 years ago. It has had many ebbs and flows, and all updates/changes have needed to be orchestrated on the ‘moving freight train’ of geat2GO. It’s amazing to be part of such a huge national project that has had such a positive impact on thousands of older Australians.
Describe a memorable moment arising from your role.
There have been a few memorable team award nominations and wins over the last 5 years, as well as some great wins when it comes to supplier negotiations benefiting end clients and Indigo. But most notable for me this year is that I have just spent a month travelling for work, which equated to 9 flights, 2 hire cars and multiple taxi’s that came to approx. 25,250km’s travelled in the 4 weeks. All trips hugely beneficial for Indigo! Looking forward to some memorable moments here in the near future!
Of the four Indigo values (integrity, passion, creativity, together), which one do you express the most strongly during your workday and why?
Integrity – A major part of my role is creating and building meaningful relationships, and this cannot be done without honesty and trust.
