Meet The Team Janesta

Meet the Team: Janesta Stobbe

Reading time: 2 minutes

Janesta is the latest member of the Indigo team, joining in November as our Aged Care Manager. She's been working in the disability sector for the past 22 years, and is very excited to learn more about the aged care sector.

What does your role involve?

I manage the allied health teams that provide aged care services, the home modifications teams and our support teams. At this stage I am learning about all the great things that all the teams do daily and the difference that they make!

What do you like most about your role and working at Indigo?

Getting to know the team members and knowing that I am playing a part in making a difference in older adults’ lives.

Tell us about the most interesting project you have worked on during your career.

It was a project called “Cheeky Monkeys” where I managed to secure funding for children with disabilities to participate in a Kindergym program.  I collaborated with the gymnastics coach to make the class accessible with some visual communication cards and training of the coaches.  It was very rewarding to see how much the children enjoy participating in the gymnastics class.

Describe a memorable moment arising from your role.

I’ve had so many wonderful interactions with staff that I supported, seeing them grow and achieve that which they’ve been working towards whether it was having a difficult conversation or getting a funding approval.  I find making a difference very rewarding.

Of the four Indigo values (integrity, passion, creativity, together), which one do you express the most strongly during your workday and why?

I think the value of “together” is the most important for me in my new role.  I look forward to learn from all the knowledgeable people at Indigo and to be part of the team helping to make a difference in the lives  of older adults.
