How to Access Indigo's Disability Support Services

Understanding how to access the support you need is an important first step in living an independent and comfortable life in your own home.

The below information is suitable for users who are funding their care through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). If you are funding your care through an alternate scheme or self-funding, please Contact Us to find out the most appropriate steps for you

Step 1: Apply to be a participant in the NDIS

The first step on your journey will be to apply for funding under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). More information can be found on their website, but this process can be started by checking your eligibility or getting in touch with a local area coordinator. Some options to apply for the NDIS yourself include:

  • Visiting your local area coordinator or early childhood partner. They will speak to you about the evidence we need and help you complete your application
  • Downloading and completing an NDIS Access Request Form alongside Supporting Information.
  • Visit an NDIS office and ask for a copy of the NDIS Access Request Form. They can print it out for you, and you can then send it via email or mail.

Step 2: Create your NDIS Support Plan

Once you’ve been approved as an NDIS participant, organising your NDIS plan is important for understanding  not only the supports you need and funding the NDIS will give you, but your goals and how the NDIS will support you in reaching them. These goals may include:

  • Being more active in the community
  • Future work or study opportunities
  • Doing day-to-day tasks easier
  • And living a more comfortable, independent life

An NDIA Coordinator or Local Area Coordinator are able to help you start this Plan and assist you in understanding the support available to you. Once this plan has been approved, you’ll receive access to your funding and can start finding the best service.

Step 3: Accessing Indigo’s Services

Once your plan is received, you can find the right service providers for your needs. Indigo offers support for NDIS participants who need:

Our friendly team have helped thousands of NDIS participants and Support Coordinators across Perth to access the most appropriate assistive technology to support their needs. We are passionate about working in partnership with you and understanding how best to achieve your goals, be it better managing tasks at home, communication, learning or being more active in the community.

Step 4: Ongoing Support

If you have previously received support from Indigo but find your needs have changed and you need additional support, you are able to request a plan reassessment at any time through the NDIS. This review will ask questions about what worked well in the past, what didn’t work well and what could be improved to better support you.
