The Role
- Undertaking person-centred assessments that identify the customers' functional capacity, strengths and lifestyle goals and develop a holistic, individualised person-centred therapy plan in partnership with the customer and their carer
- Preparation of professional reports and funding applications as required
Occupational Therapists working at Indigo provide professional advice, services and support in Assistive Technology, Home Modification assessment and prescription, and Allied Health Therapy Services.
- Provision of expert advice, assessment and prescription of AT, home modifications (for OT) to CHSP eligible clients, wellness and reablement and funding and grant options available
- Assist with coordination of referrals, planning, delivery, and evaluation.
Physiotherapists provide professional advice, services and support in Assistive Technology, mobility assessments, home exercise programs and falls prevention programs.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be a passionate, self-driven, and innovative Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist. Being flexible and organised with a high standard of communication, problem-solving and initiative are essential in the role, as are time management skills.
Sound clinical expertise, preferably within the Aged Care sector and experience working with assistive technology and home modification desirable.
The candidate will possess:
- A passion for providing person centred supports.
- A strong interest and desire to develop skills regarding AT assessment and prescription.
- Knowledge of and willingness to up-skill in home modification assessment (OT only).
- Proficiency in ICT skills (including use of databases and Microsoft Office suite applications).
- The ability to work with individuals, care givers, health professionals and other staff within a consultative and collaborative environment to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
- Current registration with AHPRA.
- Experience working with aged care clients and/or experience with Assistive Technologies
