Our experienced occupational therapists and physiotherapists are here to help you achieve your goals – whether you want to get out about in the community, get dressed independently, or make your home more accessible. 

We can visit you in your own home, or we can offer appointments in our Nedlands office. Wherever we meet you, our allied health staff are passionate about working with you to support your individual goals and needs.

Our physiotherapists can work with you to improve mobility, balance, strength and endurance, as well as:

  • Guiding you to move in the most optimal way to reduce your pain
  • Improving you endurance so that you can do the things you want to, for longer
  • Reducing your risk of falling and improving your balance
  • Building your strength
  • Advising you on footwear and basic home set ups
  • Advising you on mobility aids

Our occupational therapists can support you to learn or regain skills to live independently, as well as:

  • Improve your health and wellbeing
  • Prepare your own meals
  • Move around your home and community safely 
  • Manage your own bathing, cooking and dressing
  • Improve your memory and concentration
  • Communicate with others and stay connected
  • Participate in daily household activities
  • Reduce pain and fatigue
  • Provide advice on falls prevention
  • Use your computer, tablet or phone
  • Feel safter and more independent

Occupational Therapy helps people of all ages learn or regain skills so they can live the life they want. They can assist you to live on your own, become an active member of your community and maintain your confidence in doing every day activities. Frequently Asked Questions

The occupational therapists in our aged care team can work with any older person who is having difficulty completing their daily activities or needs support to live at home. This may include a person who is having issues due to pain, fatigue, changes in balance, or their ability to move around, changes to their memory/concentration or vision/hearing. Some conditions our therapists are experienced working with include: Falls, Stroke, Arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia.

The physiotherapists in Indigo’s aged care team can work with older people who are experiencing pain, reduced balance or difficulty moving around. Some conditions our therapists are experienced with include: Back Pain, Falls, Neurological Conditions , Arthritis, Joint Replacements.

A referral through My Aged Care is required for those people accessing our services through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme. For all other services and for any questions, please contact us via phone, email, or through our Contact Us form.

Ensure that you have any relevant medical information on hand. Dress comfortably, especially for movement, if you are seeing one of our physiotherapists. If you are coming to our Indigo Experience Centre it is recommended to allow time for parking, there is information on parking and transport on our Contact Us page.

Yes, Indigo’s allied health team can arrange appointments in your home, work, or school if needed.

Yes, we offer Commonwealth Home Support Programme Allied Health services throughout Western Australia. Availability is limited, so we recommend getting in touch with our team for more information.
